Electra Unveils the Electraline
14 oct. 2024
Since its foundation, Electra has been committed to accelerating the energy transition by guiding drivers towards electric vehicles. The company works daily to revolutionize the charging experience, aiming to make it as simple as filling up a gas tank but far more user-friendly. Today, Electra takes a new step with the launch of Electraline, a charging station that combines the best of technology and design.
In just a few years, Electra has become a leader in fast charging for electric vehicles in Europe. Operating in 9 countries, the company now offers more than 350 stations, with a goal of reaching 2,200 by 2030. A team of over 45 tech engineers work daily to innovate and deliver the best charging experience: service, design, comfort, payment... Their mission: to make charging exciting, simplifying the user experience, and bringing more people into sustainable mobility.
The Electra solution is simple, complete, and intuitive. The company has continually evolved its offerings, from services to station design, hospitality, and pricing. But it wanted to go even further by creating stations that are unique, recognizable, and continue to strengthen the brand’s identity and connection with customers. The teams have decided to completely redesign the Electra station.
A Strong and Modular Concept
Electra wanted to create stations that make you want to recharge without a second thought. They include rest areas and shaded zones to enjoy sunny days. The station’s graceful curves create a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere. Materials like wood offer a warm and eco-friendly space.
More Services and Interaction with Users
The LED screen on the structure and the totem’s screen are more than just visual elements; they are true communication and interaction tools, capturing attention and providing essential information while also entertaining.
Two totems complement the station, featuring seating areas for users to rest.
A large totem serves to make the station visible from a distance, displaying prices clearly for all.
A smaller totem is placed near the station to provide users and passersby with details about nearby services, Electra communications, partner promotions, pricing, and more.
How Does This Station Work in Practice?
The station lights up, guiding each step of the charging process—from booking a charging point to the end of the session. Its design allows it to be spotted and recognized from afar, indicating the status of spots (available, reserved, etc.), prices, and power. During booking, the reserved spot is displayed, along with the user’s first name if desired.
After connecting the plug and starting the charge, the station displays real-time progress through a progress bar, visible from both up close and at a distance. Speakers integrated into the Electraline guide users, providing feedback on their actions during the charging process: preparation, start, and end of the session.
Security is also ensured through integrated surveillance cameras and lighting. To make the experience more fun, Electra offers games on the Electra app and the station’s LED screen, which users can play alone or with others for less than 20 minutes (the average charge time). The first available game is "Rock-Paper-Scissors," with kW to be won and deducted from the bill.
