Altarea Commerce and Electra join forces to deploy ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles

Apr 12, 2022

Altarea Commerce has announced the signing of a partnership with Electra, a French company specialised in fast charging for electric vehicles. 19 sites will offer their visiting customers the possibility of charging their vehicles in just 30 minutes, with the goal of equipping all of Altarea Commerce's properties with ultra-fast charging stations (150-300 kW) by 2024. With this partnership, Altarea Commerce intends to make its assets part of the evolution of urban mobility, while actively contributing with Electra to the ecological transition.

An unprecedented investment partnership

Electric mobility is a priority in order to address environmental issues and changes in terms of transportation, particularly in urban areas. Altarea Commerce has therefore entered into a joint venture with Electra, CPO (a charging operator). Altarea Commerce will equip 19 of its retail sites with vehicle charging stations by 2024, thanks to Electra's expertise in terms of installation, maintenance and supervision of the charging network.

These systems will then be deployed on the Group's future real estate projects in urban areas.

Thanks to Electra's technology and Altarea Commerce's “customer centric” approach, visitors will be able to charge their vehicles in just 30 minutes. “We are pleased to announce the signing of this partnership. We have made a bold and ambitious choice with Electra, a French start-up that offers high-performance equipment with ultra-fast charging hubs, and a seamless and reliable customer experience in urban areas. This is in line with our environmental goals and our wish to support the evolving transport needs of tomorrow's sustainable cities”, said Rodrigo Clare, Deputy Managing Director, Property & Finance, Altarea Commerce.

“We are very pleased with this long-term partnership with Altarea Commerce, as it helps to strengthen the presence of ultra-fast charging stations in the heart of cities and to make life easier for electric car users. This offer is also a real added value for Altarea Commerce sites, which will be able to offer an appealing service to their customers and attract a new clientele”, said Aurélien de Meaux, CEO of Electra.

A ready-to-use charging solution for car parks in urban areas

Set up at Altarea Commerce's retail sites and powered entirely by green energy, the charging hubs will be accessible to all electric vehicle users. They will be particularly well suited to customer visits to Altarea Commerce retail centres, and will also offer a valuable solution for drivers on the move.

Booking spaces and payment will be made using Electra's mobile app, the user's charging card or credit card, providing a quick and easy experience. The deployment of "fast charge" hubs will equip two initial sites in 2022 (Gennevilliers and Aubergenville), followed by 17 sites by 2024.

Soon, more than 180 charging points and over 100 high-power chargers will be set up.
