Chargemap connects Electra to its 1 million users

Feb 16, 2022

Electra, a specialist in ultra-fast charging of electric vehicles, is partnering with Chargemap, a leading mobility operator that simplifies access to the majority of European charging networks, thanks to the Chargemap Charging Card. This partnership with Chargemap allows Electra-supervised charging station owners to attract the largest community of electric vehicle drivers in Europe. Drivers using the Chargemap mobile app can now see all of Electra's publicly accessible charging stations on the map, integrate them into the route planner and charge from them directly with their Chargemap Charging Card.

Electra is revolutionising fast charging with an innovative approach that simplifies the user experience

Electra provides a solution for electric car drivers, which enables users to benefit from a seamless and reliable experience. The driver can thus be directed to the nearest charging hub that is best suited to their vehicle, book their charging station remotely, charge their car and pay in the simplest way possible via the app, their charging card or their credit card. All this for a transparent and competitive price of €0.44/kWh incl. VAT.

The company, which has just launched a hub in Aubervilliers, in the Paris region (102, rue du Port), will offer electric car drivers two hubs per month from Q2 of 2022, before ramping up to one hub per week by the end of 2022, with a target of over 1,000 hubs by 2030.

Chargemap offers the best possible charging experience which makes life easier for EV drivers

Chargemap, Europe's largest community of electric vehicle drivers, owes its success to its collaborative reference app for locating and providing access to information on over 450,000 charging points. Drivers can easily find the best charging stations around them, plan long trips with their electric vehicles and charge with peace of mind thanks to Chargemap.

Since the company's launch in 2011, the Chargemap teams have been growing by providing innovative services that enhance the charging experience for their entire community. This partnership with Electra is part of that effort. Besides increasing the number of charging stations compatible with the Chargemap Charging Card, the direct connection with Electra makes it possible to offer the whole Chargemap community a fast and simple charging experience, at a rate that is equivalent to the network price. In fact, no additional roaming fees are charged to Chargemap users when charging on the Electra network.

“We are very pleased to enter into this partnership which will bring ultra-fast charging to the heart of cities for Chargemap users. We are also putting our technology and expertise at the service of a charging experience that is open to everyone and offers a simple and reliable customer experience - all that for a competitive price.” Aurélien de Meaux, CEO of Electra.

“We are very pleased to be working with Electra, as they share our vision of delivering the best charging experience to as many people as possible. We are confident that Chargemap users will appreciate the quality of Electra's fast charging network and its attractive pricing. The ambitious roll-outs scheduled for the coming months will make them a key player in the charging landscape.” Yoann Nussbaumer, CEO of Chargemap.
