The INDIGO group chooses Electra to deploy the first fast charging hubs (150 kW) in its underground car parks in city centres

Apr 27, 2022

The INDIGO group and Electra have signed an agreement to equip INDIGO underground car parks with fast charging stations (150 kW). The two companies have set themselves the goal of deploying the first 10 charging hubs in the next 12 months: in Paris, in the Paris region and in major cities in other regions of France. One goal: simplifying and speeding up the charging process of electric vehicles

The company Electra provides electric car users and business fleets with an innovative fast charging solution that allows users to enjoy a seamless and reliable experience. The user can be directed to the nearest charging hub that is best suited to their vehicle, book a charging station remotely, charge their vehicle and pay for it in the simplest way possible via the Electra app, their charging card or a credit card. All this for a transparent and competitive price of €0.44/kWh incl. VAT.

Prioritising the installation of facilities in dense urban areas

The company Electra is going to provide a dozen of INDIGO's underground car parks with super-chargers (150 kW) that are compatible with all electric vehicles and chargeable hybrid vehicles, which means 225 charging spaces will be equipped for this. These deployments will complement the standard charging offer provided by INDIGO through its “Park and Charge” services.

Fully powered by green energy, the charging hubs will be accessible to everyone: local residents who do not have a wallbox at home, private individuals on the move who want fast charging in the heart of the city, or even business fleets (taxis, ride-hailing, car-sharing, etc.).

A concrete step in the fight against CO2 emissions and air pollution

This new commitment further strengthens Electra's and the INDIGO group's commitment to reducing CO2 emissions from transport and to reducing emissions of fine particles and nitrogen dioxide. This commitment also aims to facilitate the implementation of low emission zones, in the wake of the passing of the Climate and Resilience Act.

We are very pleased to be working with the Indigo Group on this project, which will enable us to offer the first 150 kW charging hubs in the centre of Paris, in the Paris region and in the heart of other major French cities. More than just charging, we are providing clean technology and cutting-edge expertise to ensure a simple and reliable customer experience - all this at an ultra-competitive price. It is aimed at private individuals as well as frequent drivers such as car rental companies, taxis and ride-hailing businesses, who are making a massive shift towards electric mobility”, explained Aurélien de Meaux, CEO of Electra.

“To encourage the growth of electric mobility, which is good for our cities and the environment, it is crucial to strengthen the confidence of electric car users in the availability of charging facilities. These ultra-fast charging stations, which will allow charging in 20 minutes in the city centres, and which will complete our network of standard charging stations, will help to set up this necessary and expected ecosystem. Promoting electric mobility is a strong commitment for INDIGO”, said Sébastien Fraisse, Director of INDIGO France.
