Electra is launching its first fast-charging hub
Jan 31, 2022
Paris, January 31, 2021. After a few months of development, Electra is launching its first fast charging hub for electric vehicles in Aubervilliers, in the Paris region. The company will then open two hubs per month before ramping up to a rate of one hub per week by the end of 2022 with a target of more than 1,000 hubs by 2030.
Focus on user-friendly operation and fast charging
Today, 68% of electric car users are not satisfied with the charging stations open to the public while 25% of charging sessions fail. In light of this, Electra has decided to tackle the problem of power and speed with the installation of charging stations delivering power of 150kW to 300kW and allowing a full charge in just 10 to 30 minutes. The company is prioritising the installation of its hubs in urban areas. In addition, Electra has also developed a solution that provides a comfortable and innovative user experience via connected charging stations and an optimised mobile app. The user can thus be directed to the nearest charging station based on distance and traffic, book their station remotely with peace of mind, charge their vehicle and pay in the simplest way possible via the app, with a competitive rate of €0.44/kWh incl. VAT.
A winning model also for owners of car parks open to the public
Electra offers a ready-to-use solution that does not involve any investment for car park owners and operators (real estate companies, hotels, restaurants, local authorities, movie theatres, leisure centres, etc.).
The company covers the entire cost of installation and operation and pays them rent on a long-term basis. The installation of fast charging hubs allows them to include a high added value offer for their users in terms of services and ecology.
“We are thrilled to inaugurate this first hub which marks the beginning of our presence in France. We are currently expanding and are committed to providing the best possible user experience to put an end to the hassle of charging”, said Aurélien de Meaux, CEO of Electra.
