Electra signs a partnership with Weboost, the start-up of Louvre Hotels Group, to massively deploy ultra-fast charging hubs in urban areas
Mar 16, 2022
Louvre Hotels Group, the 2nd largest hospitality group in France and Europe, has signed an agreement with Electra through its start-up “Weboost” to install ultra-fast charging stations (150-300 kW) in the main French conurbations. The two companies aim to deploy their first 20 charging hubs by the end of 2022. Focus on user-friendly operation and fast charging
Electra provides electric car users with an innovative ultra-fast charging solution that allows users to enjoy a seamless and reliable experience. The electric car user can be directed to the nearest charging hub that is best suited to their vehicle, book a charging station remotely, charge their vehicle and pay for it in the simplest way possible via the app, their charging card or a credit card. All this for a transparent and competitive price of €0.44/kWh incl. VAT.
Boosting access to ultra-fast charging in dense urban areas
As part of the French Government's objective of deploying 100,000 charging stations and speeding up the widespread use of electric vehicles, Electra will equip the hotels of the Louvre Hotels Group (Campanile, Kyriad, Première Classe, Golden Tulip, etc.).
The first 20 charging hubs (i.e. more than 80 ultra-fast charging points) will be set up by the end of 2022 in dense urban areas. They will be powered entirely by green energy. These charging hubs will be available to everyone - whether they are hotel guests, travelling private individuals or business fleets (taxis, ride-hailing, car-sharing, etc.). Electric car users will also be allowed to use the hotel's services while their vehicle is being charged.
A fruitful collaboration with the Louvre Hotels Group start-up: Weboost
Electra is partnering with Weboost, the Louvre Hotels Group in-house start-up created in 2019 to develop its electric charging stations on its hotel estates. Through its digital platform, Weboost offers a catalogue of innovative and committed partners, enabling hotel owners to turn their underused spaces into additional revenue. This exchange of services will provide hotels with super chargers (150-300 kW) that are compatible with all electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
“Today, hotels are an ideal playground for deploying a variety of concepts, particularly due to their many parking spaces. Partnering with Electra is a real opportunity for our hotel owners and operators to generate additional business while adopting a more responsible approach by supporting travellers with electric vehicles.”Nicolas Paepegaey, Chief Transformation Officer at Louvre Hotels Group
A new milestone in our efforts to fight climate change and improve air quality
This new commitment further strengthens Electra's and Louvre Hotels Group's efforts to reduce CO2 emissions from transport and to reduce fine particle and nitrogen dioxide emissions in the main urban areas of France.
This commitment also aims to facilitate the implementation of low emission zones in all conurbations with more than 150,000 inhabitants, in the wake of the passing of the Climate and Resilience Act.
“This partnership with a key player in sustainable mobility meets our ambition to offer lower carbon experiences in our hotels, while contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions in France. Our customers are increasingly demanding more sustainable stays and we are convinced that hotels, as central businesses in cities and suburbs, are a key place in the ecological and societal transition.” Marie Nonell, RSE Group Director
“We are very pleased to enter into this long-term partnership with Louvre Hotels Group. This ambitious project will bring ultra-fast charging to the heart of cities, complementing the charging facilities already in place on the motorways. Electra will use its technology and expertise to provide a charging service that is open to all, offers a simple and reliable customer experience and is competitively priced. This offer is also a real added value for the group's hotels, which will be able to offer an appealing service to a new clientele,” explains Aurélien de Meaux, CEO of Electra.
