Jorge Espinel joins Electra as Senior VP Strategic Partnerships & New business

Electra, a leading European fast-charging network for electric vehicles, is bolstering its market position by expanding its efforts to develop strategic partnerships with major industry players. Amidst rapid market growth, Electra is excited to welcome Jorge Espinel, a specialist with over 25 years in international business growth, to its team.

With a presence in 8 countries, Electra aims to install 15,000 charging points by 2030 across Europe. The company is committed to expanding its services and making electric vehicle recharging as straightforward and user-friendly as traditional gasoline refueling.

In this newly created role, Jorge will focus on strengthening Electra’s relationships with automobile manufacturers, navigation providers, eMSPs and other pivotal players in the electric mobility sector.  He brings a wealth of experience from his global roles in leading consumer technology companies, where he specialized in developing partnership ecosystems designed to boost adoption, usage, and revenue.

Jorge's most recent position was Chief Business Development Officer at Lemonade Inc., an AI-driven insurance firm. Previously, he was Head of Global Business Development at Spotify, the renowned music streaming platform. His career also includes senior roles at 21st Century Fox’s Digital Media Group and Fuse Capital, along with leading AOL’s Corporate Strategy and M&A. Jorge began his career as a management consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton.

He is a graduate of the Wharton School and the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
